Ciabot Ciuit
Historically the “ciabot” are small buildings in the service of plots cultivated with vineyards an orchards, they are usually masonary but also made just with wood and reeds and covered by corrugated sheets with adjacent tank to collect rainwater. They serve as shelter for men and animals during the agricultural season but some malicious insinuate that they were used also for gallant and amorous encounters.
The landscape of Roero in characterized by the presence of these small buildings. They are architectural and cultural heritage which is unique in its kind, they attest a kind of production which is slowly disappearing.
In 2007 was completed a total restructuring that resulted in the recovery of the original body of the structure and a modest expansion. The conservation of the original brick walls and the use of wood as a new element, were the ingredients that contibuted to the creation of special aesthetic connotations surrounded by lush green of vineyards and orchards of this very quiet area.
To emphasize the special nature of restructuring, Ciabot Ciuit received the honor: Roero: Wine and territory, Aesthetic of the Landscape, from the Regional Enoteca of Roero.
Located a few meters from the major house, it is at the top of a private road that leads in minutes at the center of the town.
